Bellowhead are the cover picture in the latest R2 RocknReel magazine, (and an article of course)

Why this photo me thinks?

Edition is March /April 2012. Photo is 2006 and two members of the band are no longer in it!

Chris Bates works for them doesn't he? Maybe it was the most recent photo they had!

I know it can be difficult getting a portrait photo of Bellowhead without setting up a photo shoot but there must be others about. As far as I'm aware from Chris a lot of the images in the article should be from Bristol Folk Festival. Need to track down a copy now!

I asked about this on R2's Facebook page. Sean McGee (the publisher?) was gracious enough to reply. He concedes that the photo is out of date but he says it's difficult to find one that didn't obscure any band member and not interfere with his cover design. He says that the image is 'iconic'!
When you're a kid, they tell you it's all "grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid, and that's it." But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better.

And a review of a Leatherat gig! It's a nice long piece with Bellowhead, and made me really pine for the new album!
