I'm hoping they might get Mawkin along to the Colchester gig. I think their song "Oh, Joe" is an Essex one.
Its a suffolk anthem so I'm told. ;)

Is it? Oh well, not too far over the border from Colchester!

Was going to book the Stables, having made a negotiation, but it's only open to Friends so far.  Oh well, I don't suppose it will sell out that quickly!

:(  There's nowhere less than a minimum 2 1/2 hour drive from me - such a shame - I was looking forward to doing The Captain's Apprentice as my King's Lynn song!

Vivienne I phoned them up to ask when normal ticket sales were available and she said Monday but as I was on the phone she let me book!

Cheltenham Folk Festival is definite, (Bury Met less so as it's the weekend of Edale Folk Festival)

Even though I'm from the county I don't know any particularly Gloucestershire songs apart from the Gloucestershire Wassail and that nice tune to the Holly and the Ivy.
14th Jan - All Saints, Harrow Weald, 3rd Feb - Brewery Tap, Doncaster, 5th Feb - St Ninians, Chorlton, 25th March - Northwich Folk Club, 10th June - Knitted Character Folk Festival

Haverhill is our closest, though I quite fancy Diss instead. Anyone know what that venue is like?
If it hadn'a been for Flash Company...

Hi there,

I haven't quite finished putting the list of confirmed gigs up yet.  There's still Grantham, Bristol, Tewkesbury, Exeter, Cardiff, Shoreham, New Forest & London to add and several gigs we're still tying up the loose ends with.

The tour should be finalised soon - and we're unleashing the Backyard Songs website very soon too so you can fire away with your suggestions for songs from/songs about/ tunes for dances from the areas of the venues.

Cheers

Squeezy
