Festivals 2016
« on: Monday, December 14 2015 06:59PM GMT-1 »
This is beginning to take shape now.

So far booked Oxford Folk Weekend
Costa del Folk Mallorca
Gate to Southwell
Warwick
Sidmouth

waiting for Shepley and Chippenham to open online booking (but perhaps not just yet, today has been rather expensive!)

(Didn't book all of them today, just Warwick and Sidmouth, plus Christmas shopping!)

Shepley Spring Festival booking just gone online and I have booked - was the first to do so.

(Good job our Internet had just been restored!)

Don't know what to make of the Towersey line-up - about half the top billing I know nothing about.

Gate to Southwell, Cropredy, Folk East ... definite
Derby ... probable.
Warwick ... Thinking about it.
Oh and Folk by the Oak!

Decided to go ahead and book Towersey on the basis that there will be folky acts in the smaller venues if we don't care about the artists in the big venue!

I've decided to give Shrewsbury a miss this year but instead have booked for Festival at the Edge.  The Bailey Sisters have been there three times as performers and we love the festival so much that we have decided to go as punters this year!

14th Jan - All Saints, Harrow Weald, 3rd Feb - Brewery Tap, Doncaster, 5th Feb - St Ninians, Chorlton, 25th March - Northwich Folk Club, 10th June - Knitted Character Folk Festival

A shameless plug for the upcoming Brackley "Folk in the Park" festival in a day on Sunday 26th June - 14:00 till around 21:00 - a little free festival featuring a lot of local acts e.g Gawkey, Scarecrow, Folklaw, Granny's Attic , the Brackley Morris Men, etc etc - as well as an outing for "Watling Street" . Hopefully the weather will settle down by then.
