Festivals 2017
« on: Thursday, November 3 2016 11:43AM GMT-1 »
I have just bought my tickets for Hartlepool 2017 at a reduced price for returning 2016 visitors! The line-up looks good so far,
Jon Boden, Leveret, John Kirkpatrick, Will Pound, Alistair Anderson for starters!
And a return of Jim Morays 'quiz' .... in a larger venue!

I also have my tickets for Folk East 2017, no idea who is on yet, announcements will be made before Christmas, (Jon Boden & the RK's are a 'secret' certainty)!!

Jon Boden for Gate to Southwell, Folk East & Hartlepool, I'm going to see rather a lot of him this year, I'll also be seeing him on his solo tour!

Liking the look of the new Manchester Folk Festival (19-21 Oct) but a bit bemused by the fact that it bills itself as "the best in English Folk, Roots and Acoustic Music" and one of the headline acts is Afro-Celt Sound System! (not that I don't like the Afro-Celts, I do, but "English"?)

It's a reincarnation of the Homegrown Festival which has been held in Bury for the past few years.

Off to Festival at the Edge today. Nice to be back in the festival groove after missing so much last summer!
