Shelly you were at the Bury Spiers and Boden gig in October weren't you? They did Scotland Lane then. Very nice too. Vagabond is going to be an awesome album!

I like the one with the ship in the distance - the composition and colours are just right.

Brilliantly talented, supremely gifted, beautiful (and talkative!) musician - saw her first at our folk club when she was about 17 and followed her career ever since.

I know - a lot of superlatives, but I really do like her!

Well, Captain Ward will always have a special place in my heart, because I'd never heard of these guys in my life until stopped in my tracks by CW in the Glastonbury highlights.  Just after Arcade Fire, and before Bjork - engraved on my heart, it is.

It's a great version we'll have on Vagabond, and I'm fascinated to hear how the arrangement has developed.  But I do very slightly regret the two dramatic pauses in the Glasto version ....  I wait for them when I play my hobnailed sky+ recording.

Since then, I've had a wonderful time discovering everything else they (and BH) have on record - they've reawakened a long buried love of traditional music.  I can't wait to acquire Vagabond (next Wednesday, I hope, at the Union Chapel, if I don't get killed in the rush).
