Blimey! :o  Can't say I was over-familiar with the lyrics. Hells bells. :P

:o So I assume you haven't got as far as the "you scumbag, you maggot..." bit then, gower flower?  ;)

I've led a very sheltered life. ;D

Seriously, it's the tune that I "know" rather than the lyrics. I don't think I want to know them now. :P ::)
All along and down a lea!

Upcoming gigs:

Cropredy, August 7 - 9
Simpson Cutting & Kerr, 23.09. Cardiff
10cc, 8th October, Swansea Grand Theatre
Show of Hands, Cardiff, November 20th
Bellowhead, Cardiff, 26 November

Actually it's a truly life-affirming song, lyrics'n'all.  :)

Just make sure it's always The Pogues' original version, not any of the "censored" ones.  ;)

it would be great if Bellowhead did it at the revels, just imagine the shock in the rest of the audience!!!!

It does finish with a bit of a dance too. When it's done live, it's usually performed accompanied by "snow" falling from the ceiling. As it happens, The Pogues are playing just down the road on the same night as the revels. I wonder if they'd lend some of their fake snow?  ;)

One of my favourite songs which i should like J&J to cover is 'Jack Frost' by Mike Waterson.    Just listened to Eliza's lovely version of it from Holy Heathens.

Could also be sung at the Christmas revels of course ;D

For a Christmas treat, how about a go at The Pogues' "Fairytale Of New York"? That could be fun...

It would be great to see Jon and Rachel really going for it on "you scumbag, you maggot"  :D
If it hadn'a been for Flash Company...

Oh, nice idea!  :)

Though of Stones' songs I'd probably go for Midnight Rambler... or (oh yes) Sympathy For The Devil.  8)

Yeah they do do haul away as BH! A bit behind the times henry? ;)

However I think that Spiers and Boden could do a fabulous version of Blue Oyster Cults  'Don't Fear the Reaper'!

And i always LOVE it when they do Brittney Spears! Especially Squeezy's bit! LOL! ;D
