Where would you like to see Bellowhead play?????
« on: Wednesday, November 28 2007 12:25AM GMT-1 »
I would choose two places

St Georges Church on Brandon Hill In Bristol.     Fantastic venue.      Fantastic character and great acoustics   Shortly seeing Waterson Carthy there.

Wilton's Music Hall in London - old music hall which is in state of disrepair.     Similiar to the one which is in the photos for Burlesque.  Saw Marc Almond there this year, and it would be perfect for the band

Why's that?

Too small or would you need to rewire to allow for extra sockets!!!!!

We can always dream.

I don't think you could fit all of Bellowhead into our house. But the garden's always available!  ;)

Well I have a nice large patio ... would be worth taking the greenhouse down  ::)

But seriously I would really LOVE to see them at St Donat's Arts Centre just down the road from us in Barry (or better still at the Barry Memorial Hall 2 mins walk away - though it's not the most attractive there is a large balcony for sitters and a huge downstairs for jiggers. Acoustics not fantastic according to Andre Previn...)

Cardiff - the Point, now that they have stopped using the Coal Exchange for music.

trying to think of a really nice thatre, like the New Theatre in Cardiff, where they can take out the seats on the ground floor ...  ???   must be some!

How about the Paget Rooms in Penarth? It's about the same size as their usual venues and in a great position for whole of South Wales. :)

The three places I have seen them this year (I such a groupie) were all really good - Bury Met, Manchester Academy 2 and Spanfest (Kentwell Hall) - definitely need room for dancing.  One of the good things about living in Manchester is that we have a good choice of venues within easy reach.

Winchester Guildhall.

Saw the Jo(h)ns playing there as part of the Winchester Mayfest earlier this year and instantly thought it would be a great venue for Bellowhead. It's a good size room with both a gallery and a proper dancefloor as well as a proper bar and quite simply the finest gents toilet this side of the Royal Opera House.

Well, if we're all going to start down that route, it'll be the local church hall!  ;)

Now that would be grand!  A friend of mine used to live in a flat that overlooked the Heath, but sadly he has now moved to Edinburgh.

Room for a small one on your branch?

I hear Gorton Monastery is rather lovely.  My choir sang there in November but I couldn't do that particular gig.  Looks beautiful on t'internet and I bet the acoustics are fab!
