Composition question
« on: Thursday, April 16 2009 01:06PM GMT-1 »
A question for the Jo(h)ns - I've been pondering at work (as you do) about musical composition, and was wondering how you go about writing your own tunes? And how hard is it to avoid dropping into any of the hundreds (thousands?!) of traditional tunes you know? Is it something that comes with inspiration of a moment, or is it easier if you've got a need or desire to write a specific type of tune (for example, Jon's theatre composition and Squeezy - Frozen Gin)?

Just idle curiosity on my part, so in your own time :)
