Another one here:http://www.morningstaronline.co.uk/index.php/news/content/view/full/93382

Interesting article. I'm surprised that it wasn't written by Chris T-T though. Chris is a close friend of John's and a regular contributor of culture commentary to Morning Star.

Cheers

The picture with the Grauniad article is rather nice! (What me, shallow?)

I needed reminding how well worth reading The Morning Star is, and what better way!

Disappointed that drummers stand at the back.

July's songs are now available as a digital album on the main download sites. Amazon at £6.99 are cheapest. Not bad for over 110 minutes of music. I'm hoping for a nice box set with book next year. But it might not be cost effective to produce.

When you're a kid, they tell you it's all "grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid, and that's it." But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better.

True Bliss. I've just had to catch up on two weeks worth that I missed while on holiday.

Fay sings that one, and whenever she introduces it, I think of a certain Ralph Harris song.  It's such a relief that it turns out to be something else.

Today's offering, Al Stewart's "Nostradamus" brings back memories of my late teens when my friends and I would sit in each other's bedrooms learning Al Stewart songs.  Ah, happy days!  I bet this one will attract some interesting comments.  Strange how "Mercedes Benz" wasn't regarded as a folk song by many, but there have been no objections to Kipling poems set to music by Peter Bellamy.

I'm still really enjoying this project, and will have a bit of catching up to do on Sunday as I can't pick up the songs on my phone.

I tend to listen to the streaming version on the blog, while I read the article and comments.  So, cheeky iTunes, when I checked why it hadn't updatd for a few days, gives me the message today 'This podcast has not been updated because you haven't listened to it for a while'.  'Do you want to continue subscribing?'  it continues.  Errrm yes .... please?

I hate it when technology attempts to think for me.  Anyhow, if you're having an issue with iTunes, click the little warning triangle against the latest track (if there is one), and have the same boring conversation with it!

Back on track now  Smiley

Ah yes, and Peter Bellamy sang Nostradamus, so the same weird logic of it being 'ok' should apply to it as well  Roll Eyes
